What is Money?

People often ask, how much money do you have? Or, Do you have any money?… Questions like these are completely nonsensical. When people say money they are really referring to Currency, but what they fail to recognize is that currency is not money. Currency is merely a coupon that can be exchanged for something that we value. It is a promissory note, or a promise to pay the amount of value indicated on the bill. This fact has been obscured in our more recent currency, but previously it was clearly stated on the front of the bill that it was nothing more than a promise to pay.

Changes in Currency Here is an example of some different forms of currency that have been in our monetary system, showing the change that has taken place.

Money is value that has been created in the world. It is backed by each of our own Human Life Value (HLV). It is through our own production that value (Money) is created and through our exchange that it is increased. We started using currency because of it’s convenience. If I hired a plumber to come and fix my backed up drain pipes, when he got the job done he would appreciate a payment in currency (most likely) more than he would appreciate me paying him in complements, Hugs, and asking him to join me for dinner. Although he may be very eager to exchange with me for a talent that I posses that would create additional value in his life. ie: Maybe he is having computer problems and I posses sufficient HLV to troubleshoot and heal the problem that he is encountering. That exchange would be almost identical to me paying him with currency, the only difference is that the currency represented value that I had created previously, and working on his computer would be value that I would be creating now through my labor.

Because of the emphasis that is placed upon currency in our society people have fallen into this false belief that if they have more currency that they will be more happy. The ironic thing is that we actually gain greater happiness when we give that currency away in exchange for something that we actually value and we find utility in. The sad part is the people place so much of their time and strength in searching for those green coupons when if they just realized that “They Are Money” their search would be over and green coupons would continually show up in their lives as a result of them exchanging their HLV with others.

So YOU ARE MONEY. You are the source of that which you have been seeking. Stop seeking it elsewhere and find the fortune within yourself.
